Im here! And this keyboard is weird, so please disregard my non use of symbols. I had to ask the girl next to me how to use the @ symbol...you have to press alt plus 6 plus 4. weird. i took my placement test yesterday and met my family! im not sure if got in the late beginner class or early intermediate. im going to attempt to write my paper in spanish though.
my family is wonderful. there is a mom, linette, a dad, helberth, and only one of their two daughters lives with them, her name is pamela and she is 23. and not very talkative. lol. when we got home they gave us cake and juice, and we sat and tried to talk for about an hour. my spanish is not what it was before, but i think it will warm up with time. my roomate speaks a little better than i do and laughs when i make mistakes, but i still want to try to speak even if i do mess up. shes really shy so i think she would rather not make mistakes and just communicate a little less. oh, i have my own room! such a surprise, but im pretty happy about it. i have no problem with sharing, but this way it will be so much easier to spend time with the Lord and in prayer. I let Sara pick which room she wanted and she took the nicer one, but thats fine with me. I realized that my room has a mirror which im thankful for. it just makes it easier to get ready in the morning without takin up so much time in the bano! lol.
last night we went to the mall with linette and pamela, and then they took us to a family birthday party! it was so much fun even though our communication was limited. one guy new some english and we helped them learn a few more words. i have learned that pictures speak more than a thousand words because i tell people about my family and then i show them the pictures and their eyes get so big! its awesome. there were about 8 2 and 3 year old boys running around yesterday...i plan to win them over next time i see them with some stickers and candy. hehe.
this morning we learned how to use the bus with linette, she took us to the school and back and then we decided to try it by ourselves. its less than 50 cents to take the bus which is so nice, and on our way to the stop we ran into 2 other girls from our group who live right around the corner and we didnt even know it! So they came with us to the school and now we are at Mall San Pedro using the cyber cafe. We tried some ice cream from the most popular place...its called Pops...and it was delicious. I am going to put my camera cord in my purse so next time I come I can upload pictures since I keep forgetting.
You guys are slacking on the comments! hehe. My sunburn is going away, its only bad right where my strap was. other than that im just tan...well starting to get tan. well, hasta luego...someone let me know whats going on at home!
oh my email is browneyedgrl88@comcast.net if you dont have it and want it. besitos!

Asta Luego me Boo
This es your papa. Mi e very happy that you sound well and have little ones around. I miss you terribly tho, wherever you are, if you have the Lord's joy, then I have peace that you are away doing what he calls you to do. Take pictures, keep working on the tan and know that we live for the updates on the blog and love you very much. Love Dad
ok what's going on at home-
the cubs have won seven games in a row. they are 36-21, they have a 2.5 game lead over the cardinals for first place and they have the best record in all of baseball. derrek lee is still awesome/ handsome and soriano still can't catch but atleast he is hitting pretty good.
anyways i have been to five graduation parties in the last 36 hours so i think i'll go to bed.
don't go near those suave costarican boys.
stay sweet
My darling sister,
I miss you and love you. Sorry I haven't been on here before. Couple things:
1-I echo what Beps said, the wedding was awesome and a total blast
2-It's slightly ridiculous that the most important thing going on here is the cubs (or so adam would make it seem..he's right though, stay away from thosa costa rican boys)
I'm kind of lost without you. Who's supposed to give me the advice (that most people might call common sense) that I so desperately need?
This has turned into an essay, so I'll end it.
Adios mi hermana..te amo! (or te quiero?) whichever. You know what I mean.
OK totally uninformed about the blog!!! But thrilled to now be informed.
I sent you a text the other day and found out that I probably sent it to Mary:)
Great news on the single dwelling!! Little did you know that you would have to travel all the way to Costa Rica to EVER get your own room!! I know you miss Mary though. Well I really miss you, lots going on here, but I will send an email soon to explain.
I am praying for you! Love you!!
Hey Boo! There were sooo many things that reminded me of you over the weekend (from songs to you name it), so I said a prayer for you every time! I'm so encouraged and inspired that you have already stepped out in opportunities to share your faith...not that I'm at all surprised...I just know that you'll have sooo many more opportunities to share through the way you live your life for the Lord! Way to show the love of Christ and unselfishness by letting your roomie pick her room first...and way to grow more by speaking as much spanish as you can even though you make mistakes! Practice makes perfect, right!?!? You are SO AWESOME and I LOVE you! I can't wait to see pics and hear more about what God is doing in you while you're there!!! :)
Hey Sam, I agree with Jamie, it was totally unselfish of you to let your roommate pick her room first..It sure was a great way to show christ...I'm glad you having fun and I can't wait as well to see your pictures! Love you and Miss you! Be safe:)
Ok so I miss my cell phone terribly lol.
Yes, I do speak some Spanish and its improving greatly cause of my class! :)
Dad...your spanish CRACKS ME UP! its "hasta" luego.
Larry...just don't do anything till I come home. Sit in your room...it's dangerous for you to be out without your common sense side kick. hehe.
